Create a service account in Microsoft 365/Entra ID

You can use a shared mailbox without an active MS365 license in your tenant for automatically sending emails and scheduling meetings. However, creating Teams chats with this account requires a license.

Introduction

Using your personal account for automations, triggers, or bookings integration can become cumbersome and cluttered, as every email, chat, or meeting you send appears from your account and includes you in the conversation.

To avoid issues when a user leaves the company or to manage automation rules and existing meetings, we recommend using a service user account to handle these tasks instead of a personal account.

How to do

Your Microsoft 365 administrator can easily add a service account. Follow this guide:

  1. Go to the Microsoft 365 admin portal and select Users: User Details Panel - Microsoft 365 admin center

  2. Add a new user and follow the steps:
