Why does the app need email access?

Starting June 2019, Atlassian Cloud supports "Profile Visibility Controls", which allows you to limit the visibility of their private data. This includes something like profile image, name or location, but also your email address.

Since our apps rely heavily on matching email addresses with your Office 365 / Exchange email address, Atlassian introduced support for a new app scope called "Access Email Addresses". This allows our app to restore the access we had up until now, and read the email address of an user.

As this is a scope increase, it requires manual confirmation / update of the Jira Cloud app. This scope is required for our apps for work correctly. Please contact us if you have questions or concerns.
