Share Office Calendar

Only available for Confluence Cloud and Microsoft 365 (Office 365)

You can share calendars with people who do not have access to your calendar in Outlook. Below we will explain how to share a calendar and what the implications are for the calendar and the users.

Calendar sharing works both on Space and Macro calendars.

A shared calendar is bound to your login, so other users will see it with the same permissions. When you decide to log out, it might break the calendars for other users of Confluence.

Share a calendar

To share a calendar, click the “+ Add Calendar” button and select “Open Outlook Calendar“.

Search for the calendar you want to open.
Next you can choose the desired sharing option in the footer.

You can choose between the following sharing options:

  • Users with existing calendar access
Only users that have permissions to view the calendar in Outlook are allowed to see it.
This requires the users to login with their Office 365 and Confluence account.

  • Everyone with access to this page
All users that can see the page are able to see the calendar.

If the admin enabled anonymous access in the settings, in a public Confluence this might be anyone on the internet.

If you select the Free/Busy Only option, the calendar will be shared with these limited permissions regardless of your permissions.

Click “open” to save the calendar with the chosen sharing option.

Edit a calendar

To create or edit calendar events you need to login with Office. You can only create or edit events for calendars you have permissions in Outlook.
